It is just not possible to go Stirling and not visit Stirling Castle or the Wallace Monument. Both dominate the city’s skyline and are part of its rich history. They offer interactive exhibition galleries and, in the case of the latter, a 220ft tower to climb.

Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports are the nearest to Stirling. The former is an hour by direct bus. There is no direct bus to Glasgow Airport from Stirling.
Travel is by train to Glasgow Queen Street, then the No. 500 airport bus. The total journey time is 1 hr 9 mins.
London to Glasgow or Edinburgh Airport is just one hour, with regular daily flights.
Stirling Railway Station is in Goosecroft Road – a five-minute walk from the Thistle Shopping Centre. Scotrail trains run to Glasgow in around 40 mins, Edinburgh in just under an hour, while Perth is 40 minutes away. LNER trains to London are 5 hrs 48 mins.
The town’s bus station is also in Goosecroft Road, from where you can pick up Citylink and local buses. Stirling to Perth by bus is 35 mins, Dundee is 1 hr 12 mins, Edinburgh is 1 hr 24 mins, and Glasgow 1 hr 17 mins.
