Santa Clara is located about 45 miles southeast of San Francisco and lies right in the heart of the area known as ‘Silicon Valley’. Google’s global headquarters, Googleplex, is situated just a few minutes’ drive to the west, and microchip manufacturer Intel is headquartered right in the city itself.
Business travellers come to serviced apartments in Santa Clara for a variety of reasons. Of course, pre-eminent among these is electronics and technology manufacturing, along with software development, and it should therefore be no surprise that Applied Materials and Intel were the city’s top two employers in a 2016 report. Santa Clara also has its own university. This Jesuit university is popular for Business and Marketing majors, and notable for its high freshman retention rate.
Things to do while staying in serviced apartments in Santa Clara could well include a visit to Levi’s Stadium to watch the local NFL football team, the San Francisco 49ers, play. Close to that is the Intel Museum, and it’s well worth taking a guided tour around the museum and learning about the history of the company that still makes the majority of the world’s microchips today.
Santa Clara has three airports close by. Closest is the Mineta San Jose International Airport, while a larger variety of destinations may be available from Oakland International Airport and San Francisco International Airport, both a short car journey away.
