Geneva’s central coach station is Gare Routiere. From here, over a hundred coaches depart daily to all the main European destinations. Many excursions and bus tours start from here as well.
Geneva Public Transport network is called Unireso, it is a vast system of buses, trams, mouettes and city trains (CFF). The main service provider for all city transport in Geneva is Transports Publics Genevois TPG, which operates 6 tram lines and buses around Geneva. Yellow taxi boats crossing Geneva lake are operated by Unireso and included in the same ticket system like buses, trams and trains. One ticket is valid for all city transport.
All the major city attractions and the airport are in the same ticket pricing zone of Geneva, zone 10. A ticket for zone 10 is valid for 60 minutes and costs 3 Swiss francs (CHF). Ticket machines accept only coin payments. Travellers are advised to buy a bonus card for 20,30 or 50 CHF at newsagents and use this card to pay for tickets at the vending machines.
