Where is Fulham?

Located in West London, Fulham is regarded as an attractive suburban neighbourhood on the north bank of the Thames. Nestled in one of this iconic river’s many curves, it makes for many pretty riverside walks with tranquil views.

Fulham has Hammersmith on its left, and the up-market areas of Kensington and Chelsea on its right. Battersea and Putney sit on the opposite bank of the Thames.

Central London is a short commute away, with the district line at Fulham Broadway taking just over 30 minutes to reach London Bridge.

Invest in Fulham

Fulham is located within the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, which is a very competitive local authority economy. The workforce is highly skilled, attracted to the area’s culture and heritage as well as its transport links.

Different growth sectors for the borough are life sciences and the creative and digital industries. To encourage this, Hammersmith and Fulham Council and Imperial College London have made a partnership to advance enterprise and innovation, enhance skills, and improve infrastructure locally. The centrepiece of this strategy is the hub at White City, which is intended to drive innovation and economic growth.

Major employers in Fulham include Deloitte (an accounting firm), Accenture (consulting), Amazon, PwC (consulting), and Ey (accounting).

Things to Do in Fulham

A residential neighbourhood with a small-town feel, Fulham boasts the amenities of a London suburb and yet manages to be within comfortable reach of central London.

Its architecture is characteristic of the grand Victorian and Edwardian eras, making for stunning house fronts and streets: Fulham Palace House & Garden is a particular example of this. This stately property has actually housed more than 130 bishops of London over the past 1300 years.

The Botanic Gardens in Fulham are magical, with a beautiful woodland walk, particularly in spring when there are bluebells. It’s even possible to book a falconry experience. The café is a popular stop-off, selling plenty of salads and homemade pastries.

Other green spaces in Fulham include Eel Brook Common, a pleasant grassy park complete with tennis courts. There’s also South Park with its cricket pitch, tennis courts, football pitches, netball, and basketball courts.

Fulham also has its own shopping centre — Fulham Broadway – which is home to an array of shops, restaurants, cafés, a nine-screen cinema, and a luxury health club if you need some extra relaxation time during your stay in Fulham.

Stamford Bridge football stadium, home to Premier League club Chelsea, is in the area. So too is The Hurlingham, an exclusive sports and social club offering polo, golf, and croquet.

A cosy neighborhood, Fulham is packed with trendy coffee shops, traditional English pubs, wine bars, riverside cafés, and restaurants. In terms of entertainment, Fulham town hall puts on music concerts during most of the year.

Fulham certainly has a lot to offer, and you can be sure that staying in one of Situ’s serviced apartments in Fulham will allow you to work, rest, and recharge during your time in London.
