About Covent Garden

Overview

A great place to shop and eat, and maybe even catch the odd famous street performer, London's Covent Garden is a lively destination at the heart of the city. SITU’s serviced apartments offer safe and spacious living, right in the heart of London.

From humble beginnings, Covent Garden has reinvented itself since its Saxon times as a thriving settlement. Previously used as a vegetable garden in Westminster Abbey, Covent Garden developed into the largest produce market worldwide. The area became to take shape most significantly after King Henry VIII seized the land in 1536. Following this came the construction of St Paul’s Church and London’s first piazza.

Since these developments Covent Garden continued progressing as a market square, as well as face threats of unpopular redevelopments. Thankfully the community argued in favour of preserving the area. Thus, Covent Garden's old market buildings are now some of London’s most popular tourist attractions. Our aparthotels are scattered all over the famous piazza, allowing you to embrace Covent Garden’s history and heritage.

CULTURE

Ideally located in London’s West End, Covent Garden is renowned as a place to shop and eat. The area is notorious for busking and street entertainers, as well as being a general hub of excitement and activity. With the London Transport Museum and theatres such as the Adelphi Theatre, The Lyceum and the Royal Opera House close by, it makes sense to take advantage of Covent Garden’s city apartments and stay right where the action is. Covent Garden temporary housing is also both in the heart of the district, or further from the centre.  They provide easy access to nearby stops along the Thames, or towards Leicester Square and Soho beyond.

Although Covent Garden has a great deal of choice when eating out, from familiar chain restaurants to exclusive, internationally-renowned cuisine, sometimes it’s great to just have a quiet night in. Not a problem when you stay in our furnished housing. The area is convenient for work and business too. Business travellers staying in corporate accommodation and corporate housing have several nearby London Underground stations to choose from. Charing Cross station is also short walk down the road.

Covent Garden’s notable past and lively present has merged to form a leading London tourist destination and small business hub. Covent Garden is not only a fantastic place to live and work.
