The question still remains across our sector; what is the difference between serviced accommodation and ordinary hotels? Well, serviced apartments in Barcelona simply exceed the expectations that come with stays in standard hotel rooms.

Where is Barcelona?

Barcelona can be found in north-eastern Spain as the capital and largest city of the Catalonia region. Although only Spain’s second biggest city, Barcelona’s urban area is actually the sixth most populous within the EU. The 5 million population live in a glistening metropolis and one of Europe’s most popular city destinations. It is truly a lively and colourful city, and our serviced apartments in Barcelona place travellers right at its energetic centre.

Walking around the city’s beautiful streets is a pleasure, but people staying in Barcelona corporate housing who travel for work will also enjoy how well connected the city is. Barcelona’s Metro is perfect to get around the city and most of our serviced apartments in Barcelona are within a short walk of a metro station.

The main airport, El Prat, is about 11 miles from the centre, although it’s also worth noting the millions of pleasure cruise passengers that pass through the seaport every year. As one would expect, the city is a major railway hub for the region. Being in the northern part of the country, Barcelona lies on international road routes as well.

Starting a Business in Barcelona

Although there is a large service sector in the city of Barcelona, the area’s sizeable economy is based across a broader spectrum, including automobile manufacturing, technology and, more recently, fashion. It is also something of a centre for both European and world trade, hosting a number of exhibitions and trade fairs. As a result of these year-round business events, corporate housing and aparthotels in Barcelona are very popular among those visiting the city for business.

But why is Barcelona actually such a good place to do business? It is tricky to put a finger on just one reason why expat life in Barcelona is so popular, but the following evidence truly reveals all. Not only are almost half of the country’s foreign companies strategically based in the city and the Catalonia region, but Barcelona has been the city in Europe with the best quality of life for workers for over the last decade, according to the European Cities Monitor Report.

Moreover, as mentioned before the city is also extremely well connected with public transportation facilities that enable travel to the rest of the continent, dubbed as a ‘southern gateway to Europe’. Barcelona continues to grow, attract entrepreneurs through its quality universities, get behind innovate new city projects and immerse itself within sectors that encourage modern, attractive investment. Things to do in Barcelona

Making the most of business travel to Barcelona means leaving yourself some time to enjoy the city's best attractions. After all, around thirty million people enjoy Barcelona holidays every year, meaning luxury apartments in Barcelona are booked all year round.

First of all, the beating heart of the city, Placa Catalunya is full of beautiful buildings, fountains and shopping options to cater for even the most demanding tastes. From here you can walk down the many twists and turns of Gothic Quarter (Barrio Gotico) and explore this amazing and mysterious medieval part of the city. Picasso's museum and Barcelona’s Cathedral are just around the corner too, as well as the famous fish market La Boqueria.

Then there's Las Ramblas (also known as Rambla de Catalunya), probably the city’s most well-known street, at least for tourists. It stretches for over a kilometre down to the seafront and is a lively, mostly pedestrianised boulevard. If you do walk all the way down to La Rambla, you will end up in Barcelona’s famous port and a footbridge leading to the Barceloneta beach. One of Europe’s most famous aquariums is nearby, too. It is only a short walk away from Barcelona’s the stunning Parc de Ciudadella, beautiful pleasure grounds that are popular with kids and adults alike.

But the crown jewel of Barcelona is, of course, La Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudi’s unfinished basilica. This breath-taking temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and dominates the city’s skyline. Gaudi's two other famous buildings Casa Batllo and Casa Mila (La Pedrera) are only a short metro ride away from here, situated on Paseo de Gracia, one of Barcelona’s main boulevards. Ultimately, there are many luxury short term rentals in Barcelona that work as a great accommodation option for personal stays and short trips to this beautiful city.
