A historical military town still with a significant army presence today, Aldershot is also well situated in the south-central area of the UK, linking London and the south coast ports.
Aldershot is a town in Hampshire, nicely placed to be within easy reach of London. The town can be a good compromise for business travellers who come to stay in serviced apartments in Aldershot, with the M3 close by, connecting Southwest London and the ports of Southampton and Portsmouth.
A traditionally military town, Aldershot is known as the ‘Home of the British Army’ and one of the great days out in the town is at the Aldershot Military Museum. Aldershot Military Town is a garrison town and was established in 1854. As well as its military links and being renowned for engineering and electrical production, Aldershot also has a lot of sporting facilities and the South Downs National Park lies immediately to the south of the town.
Aldershot is only about 30 miles from London and a similar distance from London Heathtrow Airport. Farnborough Airport is also just five miles away. The railway station runs services into London Waterloo, which typically take about 50 minutes and the ring of the M25 can be reached in about 30 minutes from Aldershot by car.
